Dr. Kevin Graziano
Dr. Shartriya Collier
Dr. Kevin Graziano is a professor of teacher education in the School of Education at Nevada State College (NSC) in Henderson, Nevada. He teaches educational technology courses to preservice and inservice teachers and conducts research on teachers’ technology integration in the classroom. He has been providing professional development training to CCSD teachers since 2004.
Dr. Graziano has published numerous journal articles and has authored several book chapters on educational technology and teacher education. Most recently, Dr. Graziano's research with colleagues received the International Society for Technology in Teacher Education (ISTE), Journal of Digital Learning in Teacher Education 2020 Outstanding Research Paper Award.
Dr. Graziano is the current editor of Contemporary Issues in Teacher Education (CITE) Journal, General. CITE is an online, open-access, peer-reviewed, leading journal in the field of educational technology and teacher education.
Dr. Graziano is the recipient of the 2012 Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents’ Teaching Award. His passion for training others on educational technology has crossed international borders. In 2012, he received a Fulbright Specialist grant from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, where he provided training on educational technology to preservice teachers and teacher educators at Sakhnin College in Sakhnin, Israel. In 2012, he also completed two international fellowships at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia, and the Marino Institute of Education in Dublin, Ireland, where he trained preservice teachers and teacher educators on photovoice and educational technology. During his sabbatical in 2015, he worked with teachers at a newcomer high school to flip the math curriculum.
Dr. Graziano co-authored international research that led to the development of the Teacher Educator Technology Competencies (TETCs), which have impacted teacher education and the preparation of teacher candidates.
Dr. Graziano contributed to and co-edited two books, Online Teaching in K–12: Models, Methods, and Best Practices for Teachers and Administrators (2016) published by Information Today, and Championing Technology Infusion in Teacher Preparation: A Framework for Supporting Future Educators (2020) published by the ISTE. He also served as a guest editor for a special issue of JTATE entitled Preparing All Teacher Educators to Support Teacher Candidates’ Integration of Technology (2020).
Dr. Graziano is the former chair of the Consultative Council for the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE), former chair of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education’s (AACTE) Committee on Innovation and Technology, and former co-chair of SITE’s mobile learning special interest group.
Dr. Shartriya Collier is a new arrival to NSC and excited to continue her life mission of “transforming the world, one mind at a time”. Prior to her new position, she was Professor in the Department of Elementary Education at California State University, Northridge where for 13 years, she instructed courses related to bilingual education, English language learners, literacy development, and multicultural education.
Dr. Collier also taught courses in the Linguistics Department specifically focused upon TESOL methods, language, gender, identity, and multiple literacies. During her tenure at CSUN, she served in several leadership roles including serving as Director of the LA Times Literacy Center, MA Program Coordinator, Chair of the College Curriculum Committee and Co-PI of the Future Male Minority Teachers Grant.
Dr. Collier earned a B.A. in Spanish from Xavier University in New Orleans, received a master’s degree in Bilingual/Bicultural Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and completed her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at Temple University in Philadelphia.
